Eat that Frog

Do you ever feel like you're drowning in a sea of tasks and to-do lists? It's a common problem in today's fast-paced world, where we're constantly bombarded with demands on our time and attention. But what if there was a way to tackle all those tasks and feel more productive and accomplished in the process? Enter "Eat That Frog," a best-selling book by Brian Tracy that offers a simple and effective strategy for getting things done.

I read this book 5 years back, and till the date when I feel like procrastinating, I re-visit these 10 commanders to get me back on track.

  1. Start with the biggest, most important, most difficult or worst task on your to-do list to eliminate procrastination and improve productivity.
  2. Time management is key to life management. It involves prioritizing tasks and deciding what to do first, second, and later.
  3. Time cannot be saved, but it can be spent differently. Invest your time in more valuable things, such as high-priority tasks, rather than low-priority ones.
  4. Before starting a task, ask yourself if it's worth doing. If the answer is no, don't waste your time on it.
  5. Don't worry about things you can't change, such as past events. Focus on the present and future.
  6. If you find yourself in a stressful or unpleasant situation, ask yourself if you would choose to start it again today. If not, determine how to discontinue it as quickly as possible.
  7. Success comes from focusing on fewer, but more important tasks. Invest more time and effort into them until they become habitual.
  8. In sales, there are seven key skills: prospecting, establishing rapport, identifying needs accurately, presenting your product or service as the best choice, answering objections, closing the sale, and getting re-sales and referrals.
  9. Group similar tasks together to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  10. Follow the 80/20 rule: focus on the top 20% of activities that provide 80% of the value. Make a list, set priorities, and do it now.
